Best Wildlife Experiences on the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast is a wildlife lovers paradise. From the hinterland to the ocean, the region is teaming with all sorts of natural wonders, animal experiences and sometimes the chance to get up-close-and personal with unique and amazing wildlife.

1. AUSTRALIA ZOO

Now a house-hold name, the award-winning Australia Zoo has been introducing its animal residents to Australian and international guests for 40 years.  It’s a fantastic place to experience and get to know magical wildlife.  With so many wonderful things to see and do it’s worth checking out their website before you visit so that you can plan your day.

2. SEA LIFE SUNSHINE COAST

With 11 themed aquarium areas, SEA LIFE is sure to be an amazing experience. The themed aquariums are home to some of the oceans most amazing marine life including Wobbegongs, Green turtles, Reef Sharks, Weedy sea dragons, Lionfish and Clown Anemone fish. SEA LIFE is also the only aquarium in Queensland where you can see the magnificent and protected Grey Nurse Shark up close.

There are lot of amazing things to keep you entertained including Seal Island talks, animal feeding sessions, seal encounters and the opportunity to have your photo taken with, or swim with a seal!

3. WILDLIFE HQ ZOO

Where would you be if you could hear a dingo howl, a sun bear growl and or a lemur yapping? At Wildlife HQ Zoo! Located just 40 minutes from Maroochydore the zoo is home to a wide mix of native animals and animals from around the world like Africa, Asia and South America.

If you want to get up close and personal with the cutest animals ever you can choose from Australian dingos and sugar gliders through to South American marmosets and Emperor Tamarins.
